Approach to justice
Under One Stop Rape Crisis Centre India - the victim can come here and a gynecologist examine the victim-the doctor not even examine but also help in collecting the important evidence- a senior police officer file the final report in the court with help of these evidence – now the court can pass the verdict very soon- the person will receive psychological and other help under the same roof.
if this thing is well implemented, I will be not righting this blog . There are a lot of error in this system , in reality everything is totally different;
Firstly the person have to go the police station for F.R.I – police take the person for the medical examination – less qualified doctors do this job unprofessionally- no psychological or other help in collecting the evidence - police take time to file final report-in result it take many year to get the justice and the accused run their life normally.
Reason of less reporting
There are several factors which plays an important role in this , I am pointing few which I believe make the condition worsen;
1.Legal loopholes- bad behavior and poor investigation technique by the police, if the accused have good political connection then he/she tries to suppress the victim and tries to take the case off
2.Fear of getting into trouble
3.Insecurity
4.Tries to hide this fact from the rest of the world.
Reason of increasing rape cases in India
1.Violence of culture- people think if the girl is wearing western clothes , then she is giving the invitation to others
2.Masculinity
3.Gender inequality- treating women as object
4.Sexual desire ,disgusting mindset
5.Alcohol , Pornography addiction.
6.Abusive or violent childhood.
Solution
If we think punishing the rapist or hanging them to the death is the only solution then we are wrong. Instead of this we need to hang the thinking of the rapist. We always made our voice loud, do candle march to condemn. But who are these rapists they are people of our society . Suppose if a child is abused in his childhood, beaten up by the teachers or parents badly. Then he start developing hatred against everything, it means we are contributing towards making a potential rapist. Instead we can teach them with moral education We can tell our child the difference between good and bad touch. I know we have to make our legal system well equipped against these crimes . But this is an important problem we need to address . The person need to understand that rape is like other crime too but more than it, victim need your empathy not sympathy. In the end I would say if we will not do self engineering then this problem is not going to solve soon.
